Artist in Residence

On Friday, January 19th, our Longfellow students had the amazing opportunity to work with our Artist in Residence, Mary Beth Magyar. Mary Beth shared her passion for art, well-being and self-expression with our Longfellow Community. She presented her work and positive message to our entire school and families.

Each grade level had the chance to work with Mary Beth, along with many volunteers, to create their own self-portrait. All of our students' portraits were combined to create a Longfellow tapestry of self-expression. This creation is now a mural that is displayed downtown near the Rochester Art Center. Soon, the mural will return to Longfellow and will grace our hallways!
