Community Education

Volunteer / Judge

Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles for Thursday evening, Friday morning, and Friday afternoon. Help check in students to the Fair, clear projects for their display and safety check (no scientific experience required!), serve as Fair photographer, or coordinate mealtimes for our volunteers and judges. Many options exist, and few take more than an hour or two of your time. Review the complete list of volunteer options and sign up here.

Consider serving as a judge for this year's Rochester Regional Science and Engineering Fair (RRSEF). Judges for the fair are qualified individuals responsible for evaluating student research and exhibits for at the regional level of Rochester's science fair competition. You may sign up for one or more judging dates; however, all judges for the special awards judging on Friday afternoon must have participated in an earlier judging session. An orientation session will take place for the first 30 minutes of both paper judging sessions at Friedell Middle School. Orientation for general judging will be held at 5:45 on Thursday afternoon at RCTC.

All volunteers must complete a volunteer application for the Rochester Public Schools through the VIE program or add the Science Fair to their approved VIE application for this school year. You will be volunteering for the Northrop Community Education location, and the Science Fair program.
