Community Education

To: HIGH SCHOOL PARTICIPANTS
1. Projects must be set up between 3-5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 13th. Project set-up will be located in the Regional Sports Center. The doors to the projects will be locked at 6 p.m. and no one will be able to enter until 6:50 p.m.

2. All students inside exhibit hall during judging will need to wear a lanyard and name tag. All adults must have an official regional science fair badge to enter the exhibit hall. The student will be disqualified if any parent is present in the exhibit hall during judging.

3. All senior high projects are expected to be with their project from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. on Friday.

4. Students may not leave Center before the judging time ends without written permission from the parent or parent being present to pick up the student.

5. On Friday, February 14th students will be excused at 11 a.m. to the center lobby to purchase food from the concession stand. You can bring a bag lunch if you prefer. A special presentation by Amine Issa, will begin at noon. NO STUDENT will be permitted to leave the center during lunch.

6. Preliminary Round of PAPER PRESENTATIONS will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11th at the Heintz Center, RCTC. You will be given Twelve minutes to present with five minutes of questions to follow. Public is invited to attend. The Semi-Final round will begin at 7 pm that evening. The FINAL ROUND will begin at 7 pm on February 13th at the Heintz Center. Approx. 6 paper presentations will advance to the FINAL ROUND.

7. Transportation to RCTC from public HIGH SCHOOLS will be provided on Friday. All students will load at 8:35 a.m. Ms. Lund will accompany the Century students, Ms. DeYoung with the Mayo students and Mr. Stanslaski with the John Marshall students. All students will need to make their own arrangements to be picked up between 3:30 on Friday. On Friday, February 17th you must remove your project by 4:00 p.m. NO PROJECTS will be stored unless prior permission is approved, any project remaining after 4:00 pm will be discarded.

9. You will receive your ribbon on your project during the next judging session and special awards will be presented at the awards assembly at 9 a.m. at the John Marshall High School Auditorium on February 15th. Approximately 45 projects and 3 ISEF winners will be selected to attend the state science fair.

10. A short meeting will be held after the awards ceremony on Saturday for all students attending the State Science Fair. A MANDATORY MEETING for all State Science Fair winners & at least one parent will be held Tuesday, February 18th at 6:00 pm at the Kellogg Middle School Auditorium. Students must be registered for State Science Fair by February 21th.
