Adult Literacy

Kindergarten and elementary school, then on to junior high and high school, a diploma and a career or post-secondary education -- this is the most familiar educational path. Not everyone follows this path, however. Some students veer off early; others travel from far away and enter in the middle as teens or as adults. Still others complete the path but need to re-trace their steps or learn new ones. Rochester Community Education's Adult Literacy Program becomes their new route to learning. Anyone 17 or older may chart a new and personalized educational path by entering an Adult Literacy class.

The Adult and Family Literacy Program offers a variety of programs to adults age 17 and older: Adult Basic Skills, Citizenship Preparation, English as a Second Language, GED Preparation, Rochester Family Literacy and Work Skills.

NB: Adult Diploma opportunities are available to students 16 years of age or older.
